Raising a special needs child is extremely expensive.  I heard it can take 3 million dollars to raise an autistic child.  There are a few ways to help.

On the link page, check out MA-TEFRA.  TEFRA - Tax Equity and Fiscal Responsibility Act. The link will send you to a site that is for one particular state (Minnesota).  This will  give you an idea on what you might be entitled to.  You will have to google to find out what your state offers.  I do know there are restrictions; such as, age, income, etc.

Medicaid is another avenue.  If you qualify to receive Medicaid, medical expenses; as well as therapies will be covered.

I also heard that BCBS Insurance covers quite a lot, even if you have to get your own policy.  It might be cheaper than having your company pay your premium and then you still have to pay for therapy.

In Florida, if you have a child over the age of three, the child is elligible for Med Waiver.  What you do is get the paperwork from your case worker and fill out all the paperwork.  Your best bet is to bring it to the office which is off Okechobee.  That way you know they received it.  You need to get the paperwork stamp dated and then you are put on a waiting list.  List all the therapies your child needs and once your turn comes up, money will be allocated to your child.  You may not turn the paperwork in before the child is 3.  Not even one day before.

Check out the link page under insurance, to see about getting coverage in your state.
